The Farouk Lawan / Femi Otedola bribery scandal (2012)

The Farouk Lawan and Femi Otedola bribery scandal has a lesson for generations.

This subject is one of a stinking controversy and a show of shame but more importantly, offers a valuable lesson to generations – black or white, young or old. What is the lesson?  Yes, when the inner mess in a man’s heart is left ‘unchecked’, beware, that mess has a potential to develop into some form of  ‘time bomb’.  And unfortunately when such happens, the man is at the brink of being messed, maimed or ruined. How do we relate this truth to the subject?   Farouk Muhammad Lawan is a Nigerian politician and a four-term member of the House of Representatives (since 1999) representing the Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency of Kano State.  Before the cock crew, Lawan  had this respectable and reputable image but then suddenly, some unchecked inner rubbish surfaced and the entire image got but messed and stinking; credibility lost! What happened?  Lawan was sitting as chairman of a probe panel on the management of fuel subsidy regime when Femi Otedola, a Nigerian millionnaire businessman and oil magnet alleged that he, Lawan collected bribe from him (Otedola) with respect to the investigation, and as such, alerting Nigerians that the probe report was a compromised one. Conclusion: I leave the  judgement to the Nigeria judiciary but one fact is clear: there was a show of shame between Farouk and Otedola. This dirty transaction started in the heart and now it has messed these men, leaving their image(s) in bad reputation.

Keep guarding your heart with diligence for out of it originate the issues of life.
