A different version of the “Aluu Mob Killings”

“The world is a dangerous place; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it”. ~Albert Einstein

I may not have all the details of what transpired at the Umuokiri-Aluu community where four promising under-graduate students of the University of Port Harcourt unfortunately met their untimely death thru a cruel  mob action, but one thing is sure, snuffing a human life by violence is an evil act that must be condemned and punished here and after.

From what is gathered, apparently, these young boys were set up by a fiend and foe, who labeled them as thieves which subsequently led to a mob action. This is a real life story that happened in a sub-urban area of Rivers State, Nigeria in October 2012.

But more urgently, what can we possibly do to prevent such ugly occurrences in the future:

  1. First and foremost, Parents, train and gird your children with godly instructions.
  2. Parents, never seize to pray for your children. The Bible talks of the enemy as an adversary, roaming, seeking whom to devour. The enemy comes but to steal, kill and to destroy.
  3. Never in anyway pally with evil men; you may turn out be their victim directly or indirectly.
  4. When things like this happens, don’t act as if it does not concern you. Everything that goes wrong in the society will affect you in one way or the other. Use the tool you have to fight against  societal ills or at least, mitigate them.

Contribute your own quota at making our society a safe and better place to live. Tis our collective responsibility.

“May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house”.

Nigerian Government and authorities, Please rise to this insecurity challenge! It is eroding our collective future.
